Jamie Dreyer, Founder
Born and raised on the south shore of Long Island, Jamie Dreyer had the good fortune of growing up in a nutrition conscious home and began sports at an early age. His teenage years were filled with wrestling, football and weight training, culminating in his taking of third place in the East Coast Natural Bodybuilding Competition. When college came around, the Fitness Specialist program at S.C.C.C. seemed the obvious choice. He began his personal training career in 1997 and after receiving his A.C.E. certification and associate degree in science, he moved to NYC, where he built a diverse and respectable clientele list. In 2007 Jamie began his studies with the world renowned C.H.E.K. Institute. Since then he has completed Exercise Coach and Holistic Lifestyle Coach Levels 1 and 2 and is currently preparing for Practitioner Level 1. In 2009 he began studying with Neurosomatic Educators to be certified as an Integrative Neuromuscular Therapist.
Jamie Dreyer’s clients have ranged in age from 10 to 80 years of age and included paraplegics, amateur athletes, bi-ped amputees and sedentary first-timers. He particularly has found great reward in working with the alternatively-abled due to the creative challenges they present him in meeting their very specific needs. His strengths are in his thorough assessment, detailed program design and comprehensive understanding of biomechanics that allow him to work with such a diverse clientele.
Jamie is a tri-athlete, yogi, walker, rock climber, and avid outdoorsman. As such, he finds the very term “exercise” to be limiting in nature, thinking the broader idea of being active, both cerebrally and physically, more important to the health and wellness of his clients. His approach is intuitive and holistic. Rather than insisting that his clients follow an inflexible training program, Jamie is attuned to the day-to-day physical and psychological states of his clients, adjusting workouts accordingly to meet their specific needs and fitness goals.
