Approach: Getting with the Program
What sets us apart from the majority of personal fitness companies is our method.
Many clients hire a personal fitness trainer with aesthetic goals in mind: increasing muscle mass, decreasing body fat. Many trainers simply reinforce their clients’ concern with outward appearance. They only attend to individual muscle groups and not the body as a whole, ignoring imbalances within muscular systems and subsequent compensation patterns. Such oversight can lead to unnecessary injuries and pain, derailing even the most well-intentioned fitness plan. Also, by focusing only on a few lifestyle choices, many trainers fail to help clients connect what they do in the gym with what they do in life. Without that connection, the progress their clients make are usually short-lived.
We at Further Fitness have a different approach. We step back and look at the larger picture, analyzing how each client’s body works as a whole. We believe that form follows function. If you focus on the fundamentals of movement and lifestyle, a beautiful body will follow.
It all starts with a phone call or e-mail.
Your first session will consist of a thorough 75 – 90 minute assessment which will include:
We then sit down to discuss your goals, time availability and any further questions either of us might have.
Using the results of your assessment, your trainer will design a customized Corrective Exercise Program with Lifestyle Coaching along with any referrals he or she might have for you.
Over the course of the next one to three training sessions, your trainer will coach you through the basics of your customized training program. We will focus on good form and good habits in order to lay a solid foundation for your on-going training. Upon request, we will videotape you performing these basic exercises and stretches for future reference.
After these initial sessions, we get down to business as we work toward increasing your strength and endurance and achieving your overall fitness goals. Clients averaging 4 training sessions (60 minutes each) per week have had the highest rate of success in attaining their goals. With that said, we can work with nearly any budget of time and money.
Every two to four months, we will evaluate your progress— reassessing your functional movement patterns, posture, core function, flexibility, and lifestyle— and adjust your corrective exercise program, accordingly.
Our clients have enjoyed great and lasting success from our unique approach.
So schedule a complimentary initial assessment today and let us take you further.
